Where I’d Rather Be This Easter

Every sunrise is spectacular in Boquete!  I look out the window in front of the desk in my office directly east and see my daily spectacular sunrise!  But sunrise on Easter morning takes me back to all of the sunrise services I’ve conducted over the years, in churches, and yes, in Milwaukee in a drive-in theater with snow falling!

It really doesn’t matter where  you are on Easter … if Christ is there, it’s a great day.  “This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!”

But in terms of church services on Easter … give me a traditional service, with the traditional Easter hymns, like this one at Duke University Chapel …I’ve never been a fan of processions, but great hymns, fantastic words, good choir, big organ, orchestra, and descants … this is what I expect in heaven!

Happy Easter!

  1. We attend a small church that is a mix of Panamanians and Expats in Pedasi. Yes, we do have a translator as usually the sermon is in Spanish. My wife and 3 others put together the Praise and Worship portion and have a practice on Thursday, so that Sunday goes smoothly. We do not have a permanent pastor at this time, although we would love to have one, just not a lot of money available to pay for one. So, in the mean time we make do with visiting Pastors from the First Baptist organization in Panama. Had a rousing service today with great music, all in Spanish and a wonderful sermon from Mathew 28: 1-10. He is Risen and He Lives!

  2. Hi Richard,

You really need to try Boquete Bible Fellowship at the old Amigos Restaurant at 9:30 Sunday mornings. It is pretty awesome!
